Our Approach

Incubator for Collaboration

We partner with expert organizations who have a longstanding history of delivering programming that support our 4 pillars: Healthy Body, Healthy Mind, Ready For School and Ready For Work.

Commitment to Measurement

We measure outcomes by investing in research and evaluation. Through a purpose-built technology platform, we will continually improve and share our learnings.

Sport for Development

We use a Sport For Development approach, a methodology supported by extensive research that suggests the intentional use of sport and physical activity can build healthy communities and help people reach their full potential.
Sport is a very powerful tool, and we believe by combining sport and youth development programming with a commitment to measurement and evaluation, anything is possible.

Our Subway Partnership: Healthy Eating for Nutrition Hub

"The partnership is really bringing together two companies with shared values and shared missions to tackle child food insecurity across the country," said Managing Director of Subway Canada Douglas Fry. "It’s really about providing nutritious meals.”

Coach Oweme

“I was taught a variety of skill sets based on MLSE LaunchPad's four pillars: healthy body, healthy mind, ready for school, and ready for work. I worked with 19 other youths in the program, and I learned how to develop my professionalism and expand my network.”

Amina Warsame: Behind the Lens

Listen, I’m a Black Muslim woman and growing up I didn’t see much representation in commercials, places, or people in high positions. I didn’t see myself. What made this campaign special is it gave a spotlight to youth we work with.

Since Day 1 - Aaron Belay

Free programs? It was a dream. I felt stuck at home and stopped playing video games. I didn’t have an outlet for sport back then. When I came to MLSE I got to push myself. It made me realize what I was capable of. It propelled me into the game of basketball.
